Well known for its Annual Vacation Music Workshop for Teens and Music Business Bootcamp, DianJen Media Company has taken a significant leap in the local music sector, by recently expanding its state of the art music teaching and production facility in Gasparillo, Trinidad and Tobago, to create a Center for Music Industry Excellence. The 1800 sq. ft. facility boasts a School of Music and Recording and Rehearsal Studio as well as a unique music business resource collection, comprising: industry specific books, reports, magazines and video tutorials.
The School of Music currently provides keyboard, drum set, guitar and vocal tuition, delivered in specialised teaching labs and includes a conference room facility capable of accommodating upwards of 25 persons, ideal for workshops. Instrumental Tuition is provided by highly qualified and experienced tutors, on a personalised basis, in small groups of no more than 6 persons at anytime to ensure the provision of adequate attention. Students have the option of pursuing graded exams with the Trinity College of Music, London in Music Theory and Practical from which a cohort graduated in March 2016 with good success.
Capable of recording full live bands in a spacious live room, the recording studio includes a control room which has been acoustically treated by acoustics experts BEXtronics. Studio equipment includes industry standard recording hardware and software and a selection of instruments supplied through a partnership with Musician's Clubhouse. Core services include: Full Productions, Mixing, Mastering and Music Website Design, Digital Music Distribution and bands that are in need of Rehearsal Space can also be accommodated.
The Founder and CEO of the company is Farley J. Joseph who has served in numerous industry roles as educator, sound engineer and consultant. Mr. Joseph is a national scholar who earned a Master’s Degree in Music Business and Technology at New York University (NYU). In New York City he amassed a wealth of training and experience in the new music industry at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music as well as Livestream- a streaming media provider and RightsFlow- a music licensing agency, since acquired by Google. Another member of the team is Donald Job, winner of Digicel Rising Stars 2009. Job who is currently working on his upcoming full length album at the studio, also tutors the vocal class and holds a wealth of experience as a musician and producer. Renaldo Ramai, a multi-instrumentalist with significant performing and recording experience serves as Drums tutor, while Glen Foster, an accomplished educator and guitarist and owner of Musician's Clubhouse, provides Guitar tuition.
Lending support to the organisation is prominent Producer, Ato Williams. Williams who serves as Consulting Producer is a musician, producer, arranger, composer and audio engineer who has worked with several music business greats including: Kenny Phillips, Kasey Phillips, Machel Montano and Ronnie Mc Intosh.
The Center for Music Industry Excellence is designed to deliver superior service to persons of varying ages, who are serious about pursuing training and professional opportunities in the Local and International Music Industry. It transcends the limits of traditional music lessons by providing a well-balanced and holistic industry education that includes Music Production, Live Sound Engineering and Music Management Studies. All of these elements are critical to the long-term sustainability of the Local Music Industry and necessary to propel the sector as driver of economic diversification.
